The Footage

In March 2023, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell and journalist George Knapp released footage they described as captured by a U.S. military drone over Iraq. The footage, shot in night-vision green, shows an object moving through the air that bears a striking resemblance to a jellyfish — a central body with what appear to be tendrils or appendages hanging below it.

The object moves through the air, appears to interact with its environment, and then — in the most dramatic moment of the footage — descends into a body of water and disappears beneath the surface.

Corbell stated that the footage was captured at a U.S. military base in Iraq and that it had been briefed to members of Congress as part of classified UAP presentations. He said the object had been observed on multiple occasions and that military personnel at the base had been unable to identify it.

The Transmedium Element

The jellyfish UAP footage is significant primarily because of its apparent transmedium capability — the same characteristic documented in the Nimitz encounter and the Puerto Rico radar case. An object that moves through air and then enters water without apparent difficulty represents a fundamental technological capability that no known human vehicle possesses.

If the footage is authentic, it provides visual confirmation of transmedium UAP behavior — something that has been described in witness testimony and radar data but rarely captured on video.

The Authenticity Question

The jellyfish footage has not been officially acknowledged by the U.S. military or any government agency. The Pentagon has neither confirmed nor denied its authenticity. This is consistent with the government's general approach to leaked UAP footage — neither confirming nor denying, leaving the material in an evidentiary limbo.

Corbell has a track record of releasing footage that was later confirmed as authentic — including the USS Omaha "sphere" footage that showed a spherical UAP entering the ocean, which was subsequently confirmed by the Pentagon. This track record lends some credibility to his claims about the jellyfish footage, though it does not constitute confirmation.

The Iraq Context

The location — a U.S. military base in Iraq — is significant. U.S. forces in Iraq operate in a complex electromagnetic environment with sophisticated sensor systems. A UAP operating over a military base in a combat zone would be a serious security concern, and the fact that it was apparently captured on drone footage suggests it was being actively monitored.

The Middle East has been a persistent location for UAP reports by U.S. military personnel. Multiple service members have described encounters in the region that were never officially investigated or acknowledged.

The Congressional Briefings

Corbell's claim that the jellyfish footage was included in classified Congressional briefings is consistent with the broader pattern of UAP disclosure in 2023. Multiple members of Congress received classified UAP briefings that year, and several emerged describing footage and information that went significantly beyond what had been publicly released.

Representative Tim Burchett, after receiving one such briefing, stated that he had seen footage of UAP that was "remarkable" and that the government was "absolutely" withholding information from the public.

What It Represents

Whether or not the jellyfish footage is ultimately authenticated, it represents a broader pattern: UAP with apparent transmedium capability, operating in proximity to U.S. military installations, captured on military sensor systems, and briefed to Congress in classified settings. The pattern is consistent across multiple independent sources and time periods.

The jellyfish UAP is one data point in a much larger picture — a picture that is slowly, imperfectly, and incompletely coming into focus.
