GOFAST is the third of the three Navy UAP videos officially released by the Pentagon in April 2020, alongside FLIR1 and GIMBAL. It is the shortest and, at first glance, the least dramatic — a small white object moving rapidly across the ocean surface, captured by an F/A-18's infrared targeting system.

But GOFAST has attracted some of the most rigorous scientific analysis of any UAP footage, and what that analysis reveals is extraordinary.

What the Video Shows

The footage shows a small, white object moving at high speed just above the ocean surface. The pilots can be heard reacting with excitement: "Whoa, got it! Woo-hoo!" The object appears to be moving very fast relative to the ocean surface below it.

The initial reaction from skeptics was that the apparent speed was an artifact of the camera's own motion — the F/A-18 was moving, and the object's apparent speed was simply a reflection of the aircraft's velocity combined with the camera's tracking motion. This is a legitimate concern with any footage captured from a moving platform.

It turns out to be wrong.

The Mathematical Analysis

Physicist Marik von Rennenkampff and other researchers conducted a detailed mathematical analysis of the GOFAST footage using the data embedded in the video itself — the aircraft's altitude, speed, and the camera's azimuth and elevation angles are all recorded in the footage's metadata.

Using these parameters, they calculated the object's actual speed relative to the ground — accounting for the aircraft's motion and the camera's tracking. The result: the object was moving at approximately 40 mph relative to the ground.

Wait — 40 mph? That's not fast at all.

The Altitude Revelation

Here is where GOFAST becomes genuinely remarkable. The object appears to be moving very fast because it is at very low altitude — just above the ocean surface. The parallax effect makes low-altitude objects appear to move faster relative to the background.

But the analysis also revealed something else: the object was at an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet — not just above the ocean surface as it appears. At 13,000 feet, moving at 40 mph, the object was essentially stationary relative to the wind — hovering in place while the aircraft flew past it.

An object hovering at 13,000 feet with no visible propulsion, no heat signature, and no aerodynamic surfaces is not a balloon, a drone, or any known aircraft. It is an anomaly.

The Sensor Data Confirmation

The GOFAST analysis is significant because it uses the military's own sensor data to reach its conclusions. The metadata embedded in the footage is not subject to witness interpretation or memory — it is a direct record of what the aircraft's systems measured at the time of the encounter.

This makes GOFAST one of the most scientifically robust UAP cases on record. The conclusion — an object hovering at altitude with no visible means of support — is derived directly from authenticated military sensor data.

The Three Videos Together

FLIR1, GIMBAL, and GOFAST together form a body of evidence that is difficult to dismiss. Each video documents a different type of anomalous behavior: FLIR1 shows a transmedium object with extraordinary acceleration; GIMBAL shows an object rotating against the wind with no propulsion; GOFAST shows an object hovering at altitude with no aerodynamic support.

All three were captured by the same type of military sensor system. All three were authenticated by the Pentagon. All three remain unexplained.
